Women's Hostel

The Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) is the oldest voluntary welfare organization working in the field of social welfare since 1947. It was instrumental in promoting the establishment of ministries of social welfare, both at the central and state governments. It has also been active in the filed of social legislation and social work education. Its functions are carried out through its state Branches, district branches and the central office. The Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) is affiliated to the International Council on Social Welfare.

The state Branches are the mainstay of the ICSW constitutionally and functionally.The ICSW has its State branches spread all over India out of which some are active such as Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu who are doing excelling work in the field of social welfare. The central office is basically required to provide motivation and liaison and information to its constituents and engage in the research, training and conference on vital social issues.

The State Branches carry out different activities such as Day Care Centers, Legal Aid Cells, sponsorship programs, Crèches, Tailoring Classes, Counseling Centers, Community Centers, College of Social Work, Old age homes, Scrutiny of adoption cases, Awareness programmes on Social and burning issues, Institute for Vocation training for Adult Handicap, providing medical help, libraries, organizing seminars/conferences/workshops etc. on different topics.

In 2012 Indian council of Social Welfare(ICSW) started the hostel for working womens.who come from all parts of India in search of accommodation.The Hostel is situated in the main road of Chembur Naka which has access by bus and train to all paces in Mumbai.The Hostel provides twin sharing accommodation (two inmates on a room), it has 16 rooms on the ground floor and 20 rooms on the first floor which caters to the need of 72 working women.The idea behind starting the hostel is to provide accomodation servies at very nominal charges as well as to take care of the safety and security of working womens in Mumbai.
