National Executive Committee and General Body Meeting at 13 October 2012.
A meeting of the National Executive Committee and General Body of the Indian council of social Welfare was held on 13th October 2012 at the Indian Council of Social Welfare, Working Women Hostel, Opp. Jain Mandir, Chembur, Mumbai 400 071.
Shri Dineshbhai Rawal, President, Shri N.K. Bhupesh Babu, Secretary General, Shri Narendrabhai Unadkat, Treasurer and representatives from the state of Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra and Chattisgarh, were present.
Shri Dineshbhai Rawal in his presidential speech welcome the gathering and briefed the members about the developments of the ICSW. Shri N.K. Bhupesh gave a warm welcome to all the members who had come from different parts of India. Mr. Bhupesh Babu also briefed the members about the activities and the problems faced by the Council.
The Secretary General reported about the developments of the repairs/renovation of the Hostel Building at Chembur and informed the members that almost most of the work was completed and that the hostel would start shortly.
Important decisions such as approval of the Accounts, Annual Report, Appointment of Auditors, Renovation of Working Women Hostel, etc. were taken in the meeting.
National Executive Committee (N.E.C.)meeting held on 26th May 2012
A meeting of the National Executive Committee of the Indian council of social Welfare was held on 26th May 2012 at the ICSW Working Women Hostel, R.C. Marg, Chembur, Mumbai 400 071.
Representatives from Gujarat, Chandigarh, Punjab and Maharashtra were present
The N.E.C. appreciated the timely work of repairs/renovation carried out by Shri N.K. Bhupesh Babu, Secretary General, ICSW at the working women Hostel which will help to accommodate deserving working women in the city of Mumbai.
The National Executive Committee (N.E.C.) meeting accepted the resignation tendered by Shri A.S. Shenoy and Shri Dineshbhai Rawal was requested to carry on as Acting President till the next General Body meeting.
It was decided to contact Shri Manohar Golpelwar requesting him for some space in the Indian Institute of Youth Welfare and shift the Nagpur Unit of the Indian Council of Social Welfare accordingly.
Fund Raising Committee
A meeting of the Fund Raising committee under the Chairmanship of Shri Babubhai M. Shah was held on 24th March 2012 at the ICSW Central Office bearers meeting. The committee found out ways and means to collect funds for the renovation of the Working Women Hostel which has already been commenced.
Central Executive Committee and General Body Meeting Held on 25th September 2011
A meeting of the Central Executive Committee and General Body of the Indian council of social Welfare was held on 25th September 2011 at the office of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, Central Office, Shreyas Chambers, 175 D.N. Road, Mumbai 400 001.
Representatives from all parts of India such as Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Orissa, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu were present. Shri Babubhai Meghji Shah (MLA Ropar, Gujarat State) senior most member of ICSW was the special invitee for the meeting.
The General Body accepted the resignation of Shri Pravinsingh Jadeja and appointed Smt. Sujata V. Shah as Associate Secretary (W).
Shri Babubhai Meghji Shah was appointed as the Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee and member of the Central Executive Committee.
Important decisions such as approval of the Amended Constitution, Fund Raising programme, Renovation of Working Women’s Hostel, Revival of State Branches etc. were taken in the meetings.
FCRA Programme 15th July 2011
Under lecture series started by Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) to interact with representatives of various NGOs on current welfare topics, lecture on Impact of Current Financial Bill on NGOs and Charitable Institutions and FCRA" by Mr. Balagopal Rammohan CA A, a financial expert was organized on 15th July 2011 at the conference room of ICSW Central Office, Shreyas Chambers, 175 D.N. Road, Mumbai.
The lecture was attended by representatives of Adoption Agencies, NGOs and Trusts. The lecture was very enriching as the participants had an opportunity to have knowledge about the salient features of FCRA and clear their doubts and obtain information about the latest information on FCRA regulations.ICSW-TISS Workshop On Child First-Challemges And Concerns In Adoption
A workshop titled 'Child First-Challenges and Concerns in Adoption' A was organised jointly by the Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) on the 21st of December, 2010 at TISS.The day long workshop brought together experts and social workers active in the field of adoption from all over Majarshtra. The workshop was attended by social workers and allied profesionals working in the area of adoption from all over Maharashtra with good representation from Mumbai, Pune and several districts of Vidarbha. Current guidelines on chiled adoption were discussed at length to smoothen adoption procedures in India. ICSW is the scrutiny agency designated by the Supreme Court and High Court for scrutiny of petitions filed for child adoption in judicial courts.
Central Executive Committee (CEC) Meeting
The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the Indian Council of Social Welfare was held on 20th March 2011. Representatives from Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Orissa were present.
Mr. Christian Rollet, President International Council on Social Welfare was the Chief Guest for the meeting. At the meeting future plan of action of ICSW for the current year was finalised.
Two senior members of I.C.S.W. Mr. Manohar Golpelwar and Mr. M.A. Shukoor were honored with floral tributes and a shawl by Mr. Christian Rollet President International Council on Social Welfare for their long association and tireless service to the Indian Council. Mr. O. Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer was also honored with shawl and a trophy by the President International Council in appreciation of his excellent contribution in child adoption work.
